James and I left busy management jobs in the Vancouver area and moved to Powell River in 2005, which proved to be the best decision we have made since getting married in 2001. Although I maintain a small web design business, being mostly retired allows the time and freedom to pursue my art, which these days is acrylic pours combined with painting. The first year we were here, in-between renovations, James took up painting for the first time and found his passion. He spent countless hours studying the art form and watching Bob Ross videos to hone his skills. However, these days he has to ‘bring home the bacon’ so painting will have to wait for retirement.
