The story of Cedar Images starts in Ucluelet, BC over 25 years ago when Christopher began his wood carving career under the guidance of a master wildlife carver. Over the years both he and his wife, Rhonda, have honed their skills way beyond wildlife carvings. Their commissioned projects include a palm tree for a Florida resident, a totem for the Wickaninnish First Nation, an airplane, and a bucket of golf balls, to name just a few.
In 1996 he and Rhonda officially started Cedar Images along with BC Wood Signs working out of Whiskey Creek, a tiny community on the highway south of Port Alberni where they gained a solid reputation for their contributions. When they moved to Protection Island, another tiny community a few minutes by boat from Nanaimo, they decided to take a break from carving.
That was then. Now Christopher is back to carving a range of subjects that include wind spirits, cute bears, and eagles, as well as signs.
Contact Christopher by phone or email to order one of the wood carvings that are for sale or a custom carving. He will be happy to discuss the details with you.
